This privacy policy sets out how I (Eliza J Scott) use and protect any information that you give me when you use this website and/or sign up to my newsletter.

What Personal Date I collect and why I collect it.

Newsletters and Giveaways

If you have signed up for my email newsletter then you have provided me with your email address. In this case I only use your personal data to provide the newsletter and it is not used for any other purpose. I use Mailerlite to send out my email newsletter and will therefore share your email address with them. If you enter a giveaway via my newsletter and/or blog where you were required to email me, your email information is used solely for that purpose and deleted afterwards. If you win, you will be asked for your physical address so that I can send your prize to you. The address will ONLY be used to send your prize and I will not keep your address on record.

Your privacy is important to me and your information is stored securely and will only be used for this purpose. the information is not passed on to any third party and you may unsubscribe at any time.

If you sign up to my newsletter and download the free novella, it is distributed by BookFunnel and so you may be required to enter your email address. They do not store your information for any other purpose than to distribute my free books. For the BookFunnel privacy statement please refer to their website.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so any follow-up comments can be recognised and approved automatically instead of holding the in a moderation queue. If you contact me using the Contact form on this website, I will only respond to your query. Your details will not be used or stored for any other purpose.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How long we retain your data
